Firearm Purchase Transfer

To initiate a Firearm Transfer once you have completed your online purchase:

• Come into the store and fill-out the 4473 form.  Please be sure to have your current FOID card with you. 
  • If your address on your FOID card is not your current address, you will need to have another approved state-issued ID such as a Driver’s License or Fishing License with your current address.
• The cost to transfer a firearm is $60/per firearm which must be paid upon completion of the 4473. 
• Once the 4473 is complete and transfer fee paid, we will run your background check and your 72-hour waiting period will commence.
• You may provide your FFL with the following email address in order for them to contact us and exchange necessary information:

• When you receive notification your firearm has arrived at our facility, DO NOT come in to pick it up until we telephone you it is ready and has undergone our receiving process (and your 72-hour waiting period has been met).
• Please be sure to check with us first, we may have the firearm in stock OR can special order it for you from one of our many suppliers.  You will save the cost of the transfer fee and shipping costs as well.  We are competitively priced and can assist with any questions you might have.

Person-to-Person Firearm Transfer

• Both the seller and buyer must have valid FOID cards.
• Both the seller and buyer must be physically present for the transaction.
• The buyer will complete the 4473. 
  • If your address on your FOID card is not your current address, you will need to have another approved state-issued ID such as a Driver’s License or Fishing License with your current address.
• The cost for a Person-to-Person transfer is $25.
• A background check will be run at the time of completion of 4473 and payment received for transfer.
  • If the background check is a “Proceed”, the rest of the transfer process will be completed
  • If the background check is a “Delayed”, the seller retains the firearm.  Once a “Proceed” is received, the seller will be notified and the seller may give the firearm to the buyer.
